All resources needed for chairmen to conduct VFW Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and the Smart/Maher Citizenship Education Teacher Award Programs are online now under “My VFW.”  Visit this website where you can log in as a VFW member, then click on MY VFW.  Look for MEMBER RESOURCES Then you click on VFW TRAINING AND SUPPORT and then click on the COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND YOUTH PROGRAMS link.  You should browse through that page to see all of the programs materials that are available.  To the right hand side of that web page, you will find Chairman's Manuals covering each VFW Program area, and also deadline dates, etc.

Please note that newly-announced annual themes are placed on the websites no later than February 1st of each year, and the new entry forms are normally available by April 1.

In addition to printing off the entry and nomination forms from the website, you can also purchase additional copies of the tri-fold Voice of Democracy or Patriot’s Pen student brochure, and the Teacher Award nomination brochure through the VFW Store.  To order, call them at 1-800-821-2606 or visit their website here (at www.vfwstore.org)

Please know that there are also optional items you can purchase through the VFW Store to aid in promoting these programs and recognizing your participants and winners (posters, awards, plaques, certificates, gifts, etc.)

If you are appointed a District Chairman - you will need District Reporting Forms - you can obtain those by emailing Kris Harmer at VFW National Headquarters in the Programs Department, or call her at 816-968-1117.  They are also located online on the Training and Support section.

If you need any further information or if you have any questions, please let us know…we are here to help you with anything you will need. Please feel free to call Kris in VFW Programs at 816-968-1117 or email her at kharmer@vfw.org

Thank you so much for all of your hard work with VFW Programs!
